Have you lost a cat?
or a bunny as adorable as this?
or worse, someone you know or love?
It must be terrible.
When she was a baby, my niece had an armada of stuffed toys, lined up next to her in bed. Let me see if I can remember some-Mr. Rhino, Lady Moo, Nemo,Pohsome, But there was a special favorite-Cruzita, the yellow bear.
She couldn’t sleep without this. One time she went to her grandparents’ house for the weekend and they forgot to bring the legendary Cruzita-all hell broke loose! But when she was told it was on the way, she calmed down and was happy again.
To a child the concept of hope is not clear . Yet, it does something to soothe their soul and calm their minds. The relationship with the toys brings forth an attachment so profound that they even express their love for them the same way they do with the parents.
Master loves the pet, parents love the kids, siblings love each other, friends love friends, etc.
And that’s why when a relationship is severed, it is never a pleasant experience. You lose sleep, you can’t eat, you can’t function normally. That invisible bond is broken. It is painful.
My favorite story in the scripture is found here. It’s my blogsite’s name! This story encompasses all that is love and hope. The son went wayward, struggled after losing all the inheritance and yet the dad welcomed him back.
That is the same with people missing something or missing someone. They hope for the safe return, the love they have enables them to be strong and hopeful.
Our Heavenly Father is the same. When we rebel and leave the faith, He doesn’t cross His arms and say “good riddance”. He loves us so much that He patiently awaits our homecoming. Hoping to wrap his arms around the beloved and be reunited.
Are you at your rope’s end? Are you hopeless or hopeful? Set your eyes on the Lord for He cares for you and love you.
But as for me, I will always have hope;
I will praise you more and more.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love
