This is the day that the Lord has made

Q: So what are you gonna do about it?

A: Psalm 118:24 says, ” let us rejoice and be glad in it.”

Tall order I must say. So let us see …

6am – Alarm goes off (grumbles under your breath)

6:30 – Watches the morning news : Newsflash: Tax hike! (grumbles some more)

7:00 – Traffic!!  Crazy drivers (grumbles a bit more, throw in a bit of cussing)

8:00- Boss early (uh oh, it’s gonna be hell today growl!)

9-12 – Phone calls, deadlines, rush this, rush that. ( I hate this *%$# job!)

Lunchtime : Gossip time! Yakkity yak, yakkity yak and some.

1:00pm – Meeting- bickering, pressure, “Gosh, I have a headache!!”

3:00 – Really grumpy, bitchy

4:00 – Restless, counting the hours, texting, checking FB secretly

5:00 – Exhausted!

Well, that was just 11 hours. And who knows what else happens in between and before bedtime, right?

What the Psalmist said was not a suggestion, it was a call to action and that is non-negotiable. We are not made for the day-the day is made for us so we can make use of it wisely, rejoice that we are still alive and able to do things other people cannot do. This verse is a compass to navigate our day so we can ultimately give thanks and praise God.

There is no bad hair day. There is no waking up on the wrong side of the bed. This day is made by God for His own glory.

So go ahead and make His day!
